The 2023 Maritime Law Association’s Fall Meeting will take place at the Argonaut Hotel in San Francisco, California.  Located in the landmark Haslett Warehouse building at Fisherman’s Wharf, the Argonaut is adjacent to the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park and boasts views of the San Francisco Bay, Alcatraz, and the Golden Gate Bridge.  Upon entering the hotel, you will be greeted by the sight of a magnificent First Order Fresnel Lens, and the entire maritime-themed property will capture your imagination.

This Fall Meeting promises a combination of work and play, with a robust lineup of topical maritime law discussions alongside a variety of social events.  On Thursday, October 19, we will be hosting MLA Committee Meetings, offering a platform for ideas and developments within our community.  On Friday, October 20, the MLA will provide a full day (six hours) of continuing legal education, an excellent opportunity to expand your knowledge and connect with maritime professionals.  Our General Membership Meeting will be held on Saturday morning, October 21, 2023, at the Argonaut Hotel.

Our social events will include a President’s Reception at the Argonaut Hotel on Wednesday, October 18; cocktails at the historic Treasury venue in the Financial District on Thursday, October 19; dinner at the exclusive St. Francis Yacht Club on Friday, October 20, and our customary closing supper at the Argonaut Hotel on Saturday, October 21.  We will also have our traditional golf tournament at the renowned Presidio Golf Course on Wednesday, a fun run/walk for the fitness enthusiasts among us on Saturday morning, and several activity options Saturday afternoon after the General Meeting, including a sailing adventure aboard a world class America’s Cup carbon racing yacht.  There will also be ample opportunity to explore all that San Francisco and the surrounding area have to offer.

We are pleased to again encourage attendance of our newer members by offering a special reduced rate for those admitted to the Association in 2013 or later. Children and other family members are always welcome.

We will continue to provide links to additional information on the Fall Meeting page as we approach the Meeting date.

We very much look forward to seeing you in San Francisco!
