MLA Marine Torts & Casualties Committee – Bitter End Bulletin (11/2022 Issue) AND Request for Feedback on Committee Activities
Dear Members of the Marine Torts & Casualties Committee:
The November 2022 issue of our committee’s quarterly newsletter, Bitter End Bulletin, edited and produced by our Secretary, Adam E. Deitz, is linked below. Many thanks to Adam and the other contributing writers for this issue, Tanis Merrick of Cranfill Sumner (Wilmington, NC) and Mark Tabala, a 2L at Roger Williams University School of Law, for their strong work. We really, really, really, seriously, and strenuously welcome article proposals for future issues of the newsletter. Is there a new case, bill, statute, or regulation that may interest the committee? A trend in caselaw? Please contact Adam Deitz at [email protected].
Also, as the new chair of our committee, I would love to hear from you about your wishes for future activities of our committee. For instance, I find interesting and educational, visits to vessels, shipyards, and other maritime sites and will work toward staging future committee meetings or educational events in or involving such venues. Some committees have monthly Zoom strictly one-hour long educational meetings typically with a single speaker. How do these things sound to you? What would you like to see, hear, speak, or learn about? What speakers or topics would you like to see at future meetings? Offshore wind? The Limitation of Liability Act? USCG Subchapter M’s implementation? Please let me hear from you!
Thanks,
Fred Goldsmith
