Stevedores, Marine Terminals and Vessel Services Committee Virtual Meeting, May 6, 2021 2:00 p.m. EDT

Dear All, The MLA is  holding its Virtual Spring Meeting beginning later this week via Zoom. The Stevedores, Marine Terminals and Vessel Services Committee will hold its meeting on Thursday, May 6 at 2 p.m. EST.  I have uploaded an advance copy of the meeting agenda for you to see.  We look forward to Kenneth Engerrand’s update on the law and to the discussions we have planned for the remainder of the meeting, including an update on the FMC demurrage and detention situation at the FMC and the impact of the Suez Canal blockage by the Ever Given on marine terminals in the U.S.  If you have thoughts or information about these last two topics, feel free to email me with them.

Please e-mail me if you wish to attend the meeting.  We would appreciate responses by Monday, May 3. Shortly before the meeting, we will email a Zoom link (or phone number, etc.), to attendees, along with a password and instructions shortly before the meeting.  MLA requests that you not share the password information or place it in a publicly accessible location.

In addition, your committee officers are already considering topics for the Fall MLA meeting which we all hope will be live.  Please let us know if you have ideas or requests for topics for the meeting so we can be working on speakers and give sufficient time for them to prepare papers and submit them for CLE credit.  Most of us are looking forward to the day we can meet together and perhaps tip a glass to the end of COVID-imposed separation.   Until then, kindest regards, Deb Waters
