MARINE INSURANCE & GENERAL AVERAGE: Fall 2021 Agendas

Dear Committee Members,

The Marine Insurance & General Average Committee’s agendas for the upcoming MLA Fall 2021 meetings in Boston are now available!  Unique to the Fall 2021 meetings, the Committee is offering two events.  The first, on Wednesday, November 3rd at 3:30 p.m. (EDT), is jointly hosted with the Carriage Of Goods Committee and will include a panel discussion on mega-container vessels and the application of the ancient maritime remedy of General Average in modern times.

The second, on Saturday, on November 6th, offers an exceptional in-person experience at Massachusetts Maritime Academy aboard the USTS KENNEDY and a bridge simulator.  The day will include multiple presentations, including:  cyber security and hacking a cargo ship; initial actions onboard and casualty response from the perspective of a P&I/Hull correspondent; responding to a marine pollution event; considerations when dealing with the USCG; COLREGS; and US Government investigations, interests, and privileges.  Don’t miss this SEA-L-E opportunity!
