Cruise Lines and Passenger Ships’s Docs Update: Cruise Lines and Passenger Vessels Committee Meeting 5/2/18 at Frehill Hogan

Dear Cruise Lines and Passenger Vessels Committee Members:

This is a reminder that tomorrow, May 2, 2018 from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM at Freehill Hogan Mahar, LLP, 80 Pine Street, New York, N.Y., the Cruise Lines and Passenger Vessels Committee will have its annual Spring meeting. The agenda is attached.

We have two wonderful speakers. Esther Mallach, a partner at Arnecke Sibeth Dabelstein, in Hamburg, Germany, will discuss new European rules governing compensation in fatal accident cases. Ms. Mallach will also discuss United States passenger ticket contractual conditions and their applicability under German and E.U. law.

Next, LCDR J. Travis Noyes of the United States Coast, will speak to the committee about Coast Guard casualty requirements for Cruise Ships and large passenger vessels. LCDR Noyes will use the Caribbean Fantasy fire, evacuation, rescue and investigation as a recent example of how the Coast Guard regulates, responds to, and investigates marine casualties on large passenger vessels.

If you plan to attend in person, please send me an RSVP to: [email protected] to expedite building security at Freehill’s.

In the event that you cannot attend in person the call-in number info is 1-774-220-4000, conference ID: 121-117.
