    Dear Recreational Boating Comm. Members,

I hope this all finds you and your families well. As we all know, the crisis has hit our industry hard and we are now seeing a rise in issues regarding brokerages.

Our office was tasked with updating all the agreements for the Yacht Brokers Association of America (YBAA) that were released on April 15. This is a project led by my associate Eugene E. Ssamarin.

As part of the project, YBAA has requested that we provide a list of competent maritime mediators. The disputes will primarily consist of Listing and Sale Agreements. The geographical area would be across the US, though the target areas are the East Coast, FL, TX, Great Lakes and Canada.  Rates and expenses are to be set by the parties and mediators.

If  you are interested in being on the list, please contact Eugene Samarin at esamarin@boatinglaw.com. In your email, please include a CV and the geographical area you would be interested in. Please note that some states do require licensing of mediators, but these are private mediations.

Further, if you have come across very good mediators in the past, please forward their information to Mr. Samarin as well.

The goal of this undertaking is to finally have a good ADR list to help expediate the resolutions of these cases.

    Thank you and stay safe.

    Todd Lochner
